Our recommendation

Buy the Valor CB-11 if you like standing curls, want the smallest footprint, and value a pivoting pad and a wide U cradle. Buy the Mikolo bench if you want the conventional seated position and a station that covers dumbbell work as comfortably as bar work. Both train free bar preacher curls; they brace the body in opposite ways.

Position and bracing

The CB-11 perches you on a saddle seat and braces your upper arms from a standing lean, which many lifters find easier to load heavily and quicker to step away from between sets. The Mikolo seats you conventionally, which feels more stable for long sessions and for lifters who dislike perching.

Pad fit

The Valor pad pivots, so its angle can be tuned to your elbows, a rare feature. The Mikolo pad is fixed at its working angle with an adjustable seat height instead. Elbow sensitive lifters should weight the pivot; everyone else will set the Mikolo seat once and forget it.

Bar handling and dumbbells

The Valor wide U cradle swallows EZ and straight bars and adjusts in height. The Mikolo uses two bar holders and is listed for dumbbell isolation work as well, so single arm preacher curls slot into the same station without improvisation.

Choose Valor Fitness CB-11 Preacher Curl Bench if…

  • You prefer standing preacher curls and a small footprint
  • Your elbows want a pivoting pad angle
  • You rerack heavy bars and want a wide, forgiving cradle

Choose Mikolo Preacher Curl Bench if…

  • You want the classic seated preacher position
  • Dumbbell preacher curls are a staple of your program
  • You share the bench and want simple seat height changes

FAQ

Preacher Curl Benches questions, answered straight

Is standing preacher work as strict as seated?

Yes when the pad is set correctly: the upper arms stay pinned either way. Standing adds a balance element on maximal sets, which is preference, not cheating, provided the arms do not leave the pad.

Which is better for a beginner?

Most beginners find the seated bench easier to learn, because the position is fixed for them. Beginners who dislike deep seats or who train in very tight spaces often take to the standing station immediately.

Which takes less space?

The CB-11 footprint is the smaller of the two and it stores vertically against a wall more gracefully. The Mikolo needs a conventional bench sized patch of floor.
