Our recommendation

Buy the AD7 if the bike shares a home: heart rate programs, foot pegs, multi grips, and a 350 lb rating in a friendlier package. Buy the Elite if it anchors a dedicated gym and the biggest fan in the class is the point. Prices sit in the same premium tier, so let the room decide, not the spec sheet.

Console and formats

The AD7 runs interval and heart rate programs with a tach style display and supports arms only riding on its pegs. The Elite console connects over Bluetooth and ANT+ with a competition mode, but offers no pegs and no heart rate programming; it assumes you train, not that you share.

Build and capacity

Both rate at 350 lb on paper, while the Elite feels heavier and more planted in sprints. Capacity is a rating; stability is a sensation. Heavy riders doing steady and mixed work fit the AD7; powerful sprinters fit the Elite.

Choose Schwinn Airdyne AD7 if…

  • Multiple household members will ride it
  • You want heart rate programs and arms only options
  • It will live in a finished basement room

Choose Assault Fitness AssaultBike Elite if…

  • It anchors a garage gym for hard intervals
  • You want the heaviest, tightest frame in the class
  • You want a connected console with a competition mode

FAQ

Which holds value and support better?

Both brands support their bikes well with real parts channels, unusual in this category. Resale demand is strong for both; condition and a tight seat post decide used prices more than the badge.
